2011 has introduced some great talent from down under. First there was Cloud Control who released one of the best albums of this year so far entitled: Bliss Release, Now the spotlight turns to New Zealand and shines on The Naked & Famous. Combining synth pop with psych rock the band maintain an energetic, colorful & boast a strong selection of memorable melodies. Fans of Passion Pit & MGMT will eat up numbers like Eyes & Young Blood which are two very strong jam's & two of my favorites off their debut: Passive Me, Aggressive You. Although the album is about two songs longer than i would have wanted & a little inconsistent in the overall sound of the album, they are surely set for worldwide success.
I've chosen a more quieter moment on the album entitled: No Way. It's a nice slow burner before you are plunged into a sound-scape of distorted, colorful bliss. Ignore the calorie intake and indulge yourself in this highly addictive & sweet number. Go on you know you want it!
