Laki Mera this week is coming to Rough Trade East for an intimate concert. I'm really looking forward to this based purely on this stunning song. The minimalism of The XX are combined with some of the sounds that Radiohead & Portishead are established for making are thrown in the mix-creating a deeply haunting, beautiful atmosphere which will left you breathless. To me this feels a lot like I Know Places by Lykke Li because of it's emphasis on the vocals & subtraction of drums etc to focus on selected instruments. The gig is taking place to celebrate the release of their second album: The Proximity Effect and begins at 1pm this Wednesday, i hope to see you all there.
